Rachael and Phillippa are twin sisters and illustrators working as a creative collective. Graduates of the University of Derby with First Class Honours in Illustration, they have illustrated for children’s books, magazines, and greetings cards. Clients include Scholastic, Oxford University Press, and HarperCollins. They have painted over 40 sculptures for public art trails across the UK, bringing their playful, vibrant style to streets nationwide.
ABOUT THE SCULPTURE
This vibrant penguin, dressed in a striped jacket and playing a saxophone, celebrates Southend-on-Sea’s lively music scene, from the Southend Jazz Festival to the Jazz Centre UK. The design highlights jazz, community, and heritage, featuring penguins playing various instruments. Which one is your favourite?
