it's going to be flippin' fabulous
Coming July 2025
Across Southend-on-Sea
The huddle arrives summer 2025
Waddle-on-Sea is the latest spectacular art event that will be winging its way across the city of Southend-on-Sea
After a successful partnership on two previous art trails, Hares About Town and Herd In The City, Havens Hospices are delighted to work with Wild in Art again to deliver a third extraordinary public art trail and cultural event throughout the city of Southend-on-Sea.
For over six weeks from July 2025, Southend-on-Sea will be brought to life by a huddle of beautiful painted penguins and baby penguins.

Each penguin is sponsored by local and national businesses and uniquely designed by an artist. Contact us to find out more about becoming a sponsor.
Why a penguin?
Penguins are caring and compassionate by nature, the perfect symbol of Havens Hospices’ values and Care Teams who work tirelessly to make every day count for every patient and their families 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Just like a huddle of penguins, we offer a calm and friendly space where patients and their families can receive the support they need throughout their life’s journey
